TrueCoach programs, tracks, messages and bills. Then it stops. In a category racing to add community feeds, challenges and engagement gamification, that restraint is a genuine position — and the coaches who want it tend to want it strongly.

The problem is the price tag attached to doing less. Pricing verified on TrueCoach’s pricing page on 3 August 2026.

Pricing

Starter — $26.34/mo, up to 5 active clients. First month free.

Standard — $57.99/mo, up to 20 active clients. Two months free on annual billing. Marked as the most popular plan.

Pro — $136.99/mo, up to 50 active clients.

All plans include the program and workout builder, client management tracker, client dashboard, the 3,000+ exercise video library, in-app messaging, MyFitnessPal nutrition and habit tracking, and free automated payments.

The comparison that matters:

Clients TrueCoach Trainerize Everfit
5 $26.34 $23 $0
20 $57.99 seat tier $49
50 $136.99 seat tier $95

TrueCoach is the most expensive option at every roster size in this comparison, while offering fewer features than either rival. That is the central fact of this review and no amount of polish changes it.

What It Does Well

Focus. There is no social feed to moderate, no challenge system to configure, no engagement mechanic to switch off. For a coach who finds the alternatives cluttered, opening TrueCoach is a relief.

Exercise library and programming model. 3,000+ exercise videos, and a programming structure that suits progression-based work. Strength coaches and physios consistently rate it well for rehab progressions and periodised blocks — the data model fits how they actually think.

Client dashboard. Clean and immediately legible. Nothing you have to learn.

Nutrition without a second bill. MyFitnessPal integration plus meal plan uploads and habit tracking covers the nutrition side without another subscription.

Free trial that means something. A full free month on Starter is enough to run a real coaching cycle before paying.

What It Does Not Do

No branded app. Your clients see TrueCoach’s name throughout. Both Trainerize and Everfit offer custom branding; TrueCoach does not.

No community or group features. One-to-one by design. If you run group challenges or a cohort model, this is the wrong tool.

No video calls. No built-in video coaching or live sessions.

Nothing that helps you sell. No sales pages, no storefront, no marketplace. Automated payments bill your existing clients and that is the whole of it. Program sales to an audience need an LMS — the category comparison explains why.

No certificates, quizzes or custom domain. Standard for this category.

Who Should Use It

Use TrueCoach if you are a strength, powerlifting or rehab coach with a small roster, you value precise programming, and you actively do not want social features. That is a real profile and TrueCoach serves it better than anything else here.

Use it if simplicity has a monetary value to you. Paying roughly $3/mo more than Trainerize at five clients to avoid features you would never use is a defensible trade — just make it knowingly.

Skip it if you are price-sensitive. Everfit is free at five clients and $95/mo at fifty against TrueCoach’s $136.99. That gap buys a lot.

Skip it if you want a branded client experience, group coaching, or any way to sell programs.

Verdict

8.2/10. A well-built, deliberately narrow coaching tool that suits strength and rehab work better than its rivals do. The rating is held back by value rather than quality: it costs more than Trainerize and Everfit at every roster size while offering less, and there is no branded app at any tier. Choose it because the focus fits how you coach, not because it is the smart buy.
